Jason Barrix brings a formidable record of trial success and a diverse background to his practice, honed through a lifetime of dedication to advocacy and justice. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the youngest of eleven children, his upbringing instilled a strong sense of community and perseverance. He graduated from Lawrenceville High School in southern Illinois in 1983, following earlier studies at Wayland Union High School and East Kentwood High School, both in the Grand Rapids suburbs of Michigan, demonstrating adaptability and a broad perspective.

Mr. Barrix earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a minor in Journalism from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, in 1988, laying a foundation for his keen analytical and communication skills. He furthered his legal education at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1993.

Upon admission to the State Bar of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan in 1993, Mr. Barrix established a robust private practice. His areas of expertise encompass a broad spectrum of litigation, including personal injury, criminal defense, drunk driving, driver license restoration, and civil litigation. His extensive experience in these areas has been marked by numerous successful trial outcomes.

Mr. Barrix has a proven track record of success in the courtroom, successfully trying cases ranging from drunk driving to open murder. He has achieved notable victories in drunk driving defense, including not guilty verdicts at jury trial, even in high blood alcohol content cases, such as “beating the machine” with a .21 BAC. His expertise extends to civil litigation, where he has consistently secured substantial settlements and verdicts in tort auto negligence cases. He has achieved results of $1.25 million on multiple occasions, representing clients in a variety of accidents involving buses, trucks, automobiles, and motorcycles.

Mr. Barrix is a dedicated member of the State Bar of Michigan, actively participating in the Negligence, Criminal Law, and Business Sections. His past affiliations with the American Bar Association, the National College for DUI Defense, and the American Inns of Court further underscore his commitment to legal excellence and continuous professional development.
